In summer, the consumption of crayfish gradually enters its peak season. According to data from Douyin E-commerce, the Gross Merchandise Volume (GMV) of the crayfish industry in Hubei on Douyin in May this year surged by 201% year-on-year.

As standardized and convenient products gain popularity, crawfish is rapidly transforming from a “street-side snack” into a packaged, ready-to-eat product. Snowman Group is proud to support this transition in partnership with Hubei Newliuwu Food Group, helping drive the industrial upgrade of crawfish processing.

Hubei Newliuwu Food Group, controlled by Anjoy Food Group Co., Ltd., is one of the key leading enterprises in the agricultural industrialization of Hubei Province.It has an annual processing capacity of 180,000 tons and supplies leading retail and e-commerce platforms such as Yonghui Superstores, Dingdong Maicai, and Yuhui Tongxing. Crawfish production is highly seasonal, with complex processes and strict temperature control requirements. Snowman Group provides efficient, stable, and energy-saving refrigeration systems that ensure consistent product quality and reliable supply.

Since 2017, Snowman Group has partnered with Hubei Newliuwu Food Group to deliver comprehensive cold chain solutions for two new processing bases and six expansion projects. The collaboration includes over 60 main refrigeration units, more than 30 evaporative condensers and multiple sets of supporting container heat exchangers and other products. Projects with 100,000-ton and 50,000-ton annual capacities have been completed, with a 30,000-ton project underway.

In response to the complex workflows and wide temperature ranges in crawfish processing, Snowman Group has tailored a mix of single-stage, double-stage, and dual-unit refrigeration systems to match each cooling stage precisely. The design team optimized every detail—from compressor configurations and valve logic to pipeline sizing—to ensure high performance under varying loads.
